I resisted uploading this earlier because a number of shots have already been posted of this sad soul and his surroundings; I'm hoping it's at least a little different view from what's been shown already. At any rate, upon encountering this guy I was struck by the sheer loneliness he projected sitting under such a striking and, out-of-context, very violent looking artwork. And he with such a bright red nose to accentuate the scene. I don't seem able to articulate exactly all I felt here, but it was very unsettling, profoundly sad, and yet strangely compelling. We passed by him again the next day quite some distance away, sans the red nose, sewing his jeans while still wearing them.
This is an incredible shot! Its amazing to see it from a different point of view! That art work really adds to the unsettling feel I get! Great capture, Jenn!
Oh my,Jenn, what a magnificent illustration of how a camera and the skill of a photographer can capture the essence of a life. I can imagine how it must have made you feel,as facing harsh realities of human existence can.As much part of its rich tapestry, even as beautiful, as the lighter side.
It's actually nice to see the whole picture... the context he is in. The image is still very sad and kind of creepy with all this "bloody" background. Great shot, Jenn!
