Handsome Dude

Okay, four birds in a row. But this guy was SO cool to spot! Wood ducks are not particularly common around here and in fact I personally have never seen one in the wild. But thanks to a great outing with a group of photog friends, score!! No female of wood ducks were to be seen, but this beautiful boy was quite popular with the female mallards!

To me, male wood ducks look gorgeously hand painted. Lovely capture!There is usually at least one pair in a large pond we have in a park here, but it's too early for them to have come back north yet--so thanks for sharing this one!
