My contract runs until the end of the year, but I have to take leave starting on Monday, so today was my last official work day. It wasn't really what I'd have planned (IT finally came to fix my computer at 3pm and were still fiddling with it when I left, for example).
My wonderful boss, who I have loved working with, bought me a big bunch of flowers, so here's a pic. (Although today is my last official day, I've still got a few things to pop in and out for, including my leaving party next week). Now I just have to get back to applying for jobs...
I am sorry to hear this, but only because it sounded like you enjoyed it there. However one door closes and God opens another.. So hang in there. Nice of your boss to send the flowers. They are beautiful
@clarissajohal I have been a university lecturer/tutor for the past 10 years. Unfortunately always in casual jobs/short term contracts, and it's almost impossible to find continuing work there, especially at the moment. I *love* teaching uni students and it nearly breaks my heart that I have to give it up :(
@alia_801 Okay, got it. My dad was a professor and we traveled yearly when I was a kid. Tough thing to be a part of but you do it because you love education.
Lovely flowers, what a shame you have to leave a job you enjoyed
Wish you succes by finding a new job. Keep my fingers cross foryou
Lovely photo!
