oh, Alia, i really like this one because of that stunning blue sky. this is really going to make your calendar POP! i have a ? about next week. do we have to take photos of b&w shapes or can we add them to our photos?
Hi Alia..I've spend all morning and now again hours I just can't get my pictures to line up proper..I'm using a canon eosrebel xs. any idea how to set the camera or even is there is a setting other than judging the subject to see if in your mind it should line up.. today is just so frustating.and when I look at the thumbnails sofar I don't think any of them line up proper..could this be done in a collage? how do you do it if I may ask.
@catsmeowb You can take pictures of B&W shapes, or take pics of coloured shapes and process them to be B&W, or you could just add different shapes in using picmonkey or ribbet :) As long as your thumbnails look good in the calendar, do whatever works best for you!
@bruni I set my camera to 1:1 (square) format, which makes any cropping a lot easier (and means that the edge of the picture you see corresponds a lot better with the edge of the thumbnail). If you don't have a 1:1 mode, just try to keep the line as straight as possible and it shouldn't be a problem. I keep the previous day's pic in the camera, so I can use my finger to mark where the line should be on the screen when I set up the next day's pic.
I added a folder to my image software (iPhoto) so I can put all the pics for this week in one folder, and compare them side-by-side to see how the line matches.
Finally I crop the pic slightly to fix up the alignment (I've turned into a bit of a perfectionist for this challenge, for some reason!) - shaving a little off the bottom of the image will cause the 'line' to be lower, or cropping off the top will raise it.
Postscript: I upload the pic and very quickly look at the thumbnails - if they don't match I delete the pic before anyone can comment and work on it a little more, then try to upload it again...
(It all sounds very complicated here, but doesn't usually take me very long). Good luck!
so, if i understand you correctly, i can use any photo i want and then add in the b&w shapes I choose as long as they have some unity and make sense across the week?
