Media event

Part of the conference today was a media event to launch the Murchison Widefield Array (MWA), a pre-cursor project to the Square Kilometer Array, which will eventually be the largest telescope in human history, giving us unprecedented views of the distant universe at radio wavelengths. As you can see, there were a lot of astronomers, plus several photographers and news crews...
Sounds like a great conference.

@prttblues It's a radio telescope, so it won't produce pictures as we understand them - we have to process the information into images that give us an idea of what is going on, but it's not the same as what we'd see with our eyes.
