Participating in the annual Association of Independent School Librarians conference is more than visiting historic sights and museums. The number of participants at each conference is kept at about 100 -- the number that can fit on 2 busses. Throughout the 3 days we are shuttled to wonderful independent school libraries in the area to get ideas and attend workshops. This is the main entrance to the Ann Scott Carrell Library at Harpeth Hall, a girls school in Nashville with an incredible campus and a great academic tradition. The library program received the Library of the Year award in 2007 and the size, architecture and design blew us all away. We are all inspired and refreshed for another year.
I attend a reading conference every year in February and ALWAYS come a way refreshed and confirmed. I'm glad you've had a good time and I've enjoyed peeking into Nashville!
I love libraries as well. I have found myself going to the library when I didn't have any place to go that day and just needed to get out of the house. It's a nice place to go...to socialize, to dream, to escape...and just to be. I think this picture reminds me of all the reasons why I go to the library.
you must be having a lot of fun at the conference. i also enjoy going to libraries, there's always an ambience in them that makes me love being there for hours on end!
thank you Allison for your nice comment, i guess i should thank the Disney camera, the low resolution "smooth up" all the wrinkles and makes me look younger? hahaha!
