The campers gathered around the flag pole in Independence Day regalia to celebrate the 4th of July. They sang their answer to The Star Spangled Banner, called "Red, White, and Blue" sung to the tune of "Three Blind Mice" Then we all saluted the flag. The look of amazement on the faces of 2 little girls is due to the sudden appearance of a bird on the top of the flag pole. It was just like a fly-in at the Super Bowl as the bird glided over the group and perched atop the flag pole. A very dramatic effect. Of course some of these little guys were totally unaware of anything except getting to wear neat stuff and then march in a parade through the school. And come to think of it, that was pretty cool!
fantastic collage, Allison! AND, you captured the bird! I'm going to miss the 4th of July parade here, as it's today and we have another windsurfing race. I wish they'd stick to the actual date instead of when it's "convenient" (i.e, Saturday)!
Thanks for my flag comment. Yours is very fun! So All-American!! I can't wait for the parade in our little town in Indiana tomorrow morning. Another great piece of Americana.
Allison, I have no idea why the flag color was not affected more than it was. There was a slight change in the color but the majority of the red, white and blue remained.
