From Gramma with Love

Of course Gramma the librarian is going to give books for Christmas, but since I don't live nearby I won't have the pleasure of reading to Maddie after our visit is over. Enter technology. With Apple's Garageband, I was able to record each story (with page turning beeps) and burn a CD to accompany each book. I hope this is one way the holiday spirit can last all through the year.
That is such a cool gift!

This is such a wonderful idea, Allison! I am sure Maddie is going to love her gift, especially since it was made with so much love! :-)

That is so awesome! She will cherish these CDs! Thanks for the name of the software. I usually use a digital voice recorder, but it will be nice to have something to recommend to my "Apple" families. (I work with blind children, and they always prefer a familiar voice to the typical commercially-produced recordings.)

What an awesome idea, Allison! So creative; I never would have thought of that! I'm sure that's something she will really cherish. I love it when technology is able to bring people closer like that.

@junebug Thanks for your comment. I've missed your beautiful photos of the eastern Shore and your commentary. Are you back?

I'm thinking of trying to finish out 2010 even if I don't post every day -- although I would like to make my whole year. I miss the people on this site and I want to see 2010 "out" with you all. I have taken a few pics I would like to share -- but they will be a few days or weeks old.

Good for you for already checking this off your list. I bought 5 and will be lucky if I get any of them done before I go for my visit. I hope I can do it as seamlessly as you did!
