A dear friend was back in town from her Florida retirement home and as has become our custom, we met at Yum Yum Good, a little Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood. We like the food but even more important, we can linger at the table for as long as we want. As I waited for Pat to arrive, I asked our usual waitress if she had any Chinese money I could incorporate into a photograph. She pondered for a moment then obligingly dipped into her own pocketbook and removed these two coins from her key chain. She then proceeded to tell me the coins were over one thousand years old and were a gift from her grandmother. What a lovely tribute to family and history.
I really like this shot- from the colorful background of the menu to the ancient coins. You've probably already thought of this, but I hope she gets a copy of your picture!
