Grand Finale

As part of a series of plays and performances that come to our school, today the students were treated to a troupe from The Barter Theatre in Abingdon, VA. They had a very entertaining version of 4 of Rudyard Kipling's "Just So Stories", including "How the Leopard Got His Spots" and "How the Camel Got His Hump." The students were mesmerized by the livliness and humor of the players and the teachers loved the subtle humor added for adult enjoyment. At one point a number of kindergartners spontaneously called out, imploring one of the players not to eat the crackers he had been instructed to leave alone. What made the program even more meaningful is that the stories are set in Africa, and if you have been following my albums, you know our classes have been exploring a map of Africa. It was a great connection. Here are some still images from the production: http://www.flickr.com/photos/28722085@N08/sets/72157628753326657/with/6649988871/
