Rally Day Breakfast by allie912

Rally Day Breakfast

This may be a Southern thing but the Sunday after Labor Day is the official kick-off of our Christian Education year. The children meet their new Sunday School teachers and we have a breakfast prepared by the men. This year we moved the whole celebration out to the courtyard with tables set up for crafts and information for all ages and classes.. The men's breakfast was another Southern tradition -- sausage biscuits, perfect and portable.
Awesome

We'll be starting up Sunday School next week and Jeff and I are looking forward to working with the teens. I think donuts might be in order! Nice shot! Looks like everybody's ready to dig in!

I remember seeing your picture from last year or was it the year before of the men cooking you breakfast. I would be trying to find more days in the year that they should do this

@lynne3804 You've got a great memory. The men cook the first Sunday of the month. It's a great social time for them, and the whole congregation reaps the benefits.

@phil_howcroft A sausage biscuit consists of a cooked sausage patty and ususally a slice of yellow cheese inside a baking powder biscuit. To be honest, it is too heavy a dish for me to start the day, but it is very popular for people and restaurants that want breakfast on-the-run.
