Here is our minister helping a youngster light the second candle of Advent. What a great breakthrough when the candle lighter replaced the match. Worrying about whether the match would stay lit or if there would be singed fingers, used to be the focus of the lighting of the wreath. Now we can keep our attention on the true meaning of this act without the external drama.
Sweet shot! Our church has switched from the traditional wax candles to oil base ones. They look like they're wax, but the literally unscrew for the oil to be poured in and the wick sticks out of the top just like a real candle.
