A Row of Readers

These three year olds, a class of 8 boys and one girl, were in the library for story time. Each of them chooses a book to take back to their classroom. The kids love to pick out a favorite picture book, and it really makes them feel special to go to the check-out computer and scan the barcode themselves.
Very cool. I can't believe how well my two Kindergarteners are reading and sounding out words I would have thought impossible for them.

Learning to enjoy books at an early age, a great idea to bestow on them

@olivetreeann I wouldn't say they were reading the words, but they could certainly enjoy the illustrations!

@allie912 Oh- well in a way that's a relief! My grandson Sam (who is 3) loves books as well- and it might sound like he's reading the book, but he's read many of them with his daddy so many times he's got the words memorized.

Looks like the children enjoy going to the library to take out a book. it's good that they get introduced libraries at an early age. great picture Allison.

That is such a cute shot! I hope the parents got it, too! It will make a great reminder of this awesome activity! Never too young to learn to appreciate books!
