Reflections

I spent a peaceful hour at the pool, listening to the most hilarious book I can remember reading in a long time. Written in 1889 by Jerome K. Jerome, "Three Men in a Boat" is the story of three friends attempting to take a boat trip down the Thames. I downloaded the e-book for free from Amazon and they threw in the audio version for $2.99. The narrator deserves multiple awards for his ability to bring to life aristocrats, day laborers, old men and young, debutantes and servant girls and everyone in between. If you have any interest in English country life, I promise you will be caught up in the trials of these 3 supremely confident and totally clueless friends and their dog.
I took this picture with my ipod Touch and then cropped it. That is why it is so small.
What a perfectly lovely place to engage in a good book and share the great read with us all! Always on the look out for a new title (to add to my ever-growing list of books I haven't had the time to read!) I'll have Ken add this to my Nook & I suspect he'll enjoy it immensely as well!
I love the tranquility of your scene, and many thanks for the book review!

Fun shot -- and thanks for the reading tip, Allison. I might have read a little Jerome in college -- I do remember his unusual name.

I agree with the narrator comment, definitely a must to have a good speaking and expressing voice to keep the book alive

I will try and get the book. You make it sound so inviting.
