Opposite Monroe Park

One of our doors yesterday was set up on the edge of Monroe Park. We parked a few blocks away and walked over. These three impressive structures are right across the street from the park. On the far left is a building in the Moorish style, originally called The Mosque, built by the the Shriners fraternal organization as a performance site in 1927. Next is Grace & Holy Trinity Episcopal church which has been at this location since 1874. The other photo shows the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Mother Church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Richmond which was completed in 1906. There is so much history in these three buildings!
Beautiful structures!

So glad we took time to visit The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart...but looking at your photos now, I guess we should have tried to visit the other church also. I really know nothing about that one.
