My friend and colleague Lee is a true craftsman. She creates these unique pieces with the technique called quilling. This is a gift ordered by the children of a couple on the occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Lee let me photograph it as she prepared to mail it to North Carolina. I knew someone many years ago that did this too- it's amazing how they twist and fold the paper to create such small pieces. This is beautiful and I'm sure the couple receiving it are going to be thrilled.
