HAPPY ARBOR DAY!!

What is Arbor Day and why is it celebrated?

In 1872, a man by the name of J. Sterling Morton proposed to the Nebraska Board of Agriculture that a special day be set aside for the planting of trees. This holiday, called Arbor Day, was first observed with the planting of more than one million trees in Nebraska, and is now celebrated all over the world.
Thanks for the timely information! And the lovely photo.
