Charlie Brown at the VMHC

Ellen and I were looking forward to this traveling Christmas exhibit from the Charles Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, CA. It was perfect for two grandmothers reliving our youth reading Peanuts comic strips. The exhibit was advertised as family-friendly, but frankly I would discourage young kids from visiting. The majority of the displayed items were reproductions (not even original) of Christmas cartoons from different years. They were hung at eye level for adults, and like all Peanuts comics, they were quite verbal with adult humor and irony. Aside from a few Peanuts tree ornaments and a scraggly Christmas tree, there was very little to engage a child. My advice, stay home and watch “A Charlie Brown Christmas” on tv.
