My friend Lee lost her mother this week. 93 years old and married 70 years to the gentleman seen in the background of this picture, she was the matriarch of a large and loving family. They gathered today to remember her at a memorial service which included “ A Letter to Mom” from one daughter, scripture read by one granddaughter, a touching violin rendition of Amazing Grace from another granddaughter, memories shared by the minister emeritus who gave tribute to the deceased and her husband as cornerstones of the church. The sanctuary was filled with babies and young children giving witness that the influence of this mother and grandmother will continue for generations to come. Here you see Lee with two of her granddaughters who flew in from Boston with their parents this morning and will fly back this evening.
