John doesn’t have the hearty appetite he used to have, so dinners have been less ambitious. The irony is that watching The Food Network is one of his favorite pastimes. Last night I did something to tempt his appetite by turning leftover mashed potatoes into a potato cake, breaded and fried just like a cutlet. Served with sliced rotisserie chicken and a simple salad, it was a hit.
