My condo pool is the best kept secret in Richmond. Not just because it is never crowded but because it is an urban oasis. All because of Bernard, a resident originally from South Africa,pictured on left, who cares for the grounds as an act of love. Using no chemicals, he cultivates lush flowers and bushes all around the pool. He has placed little bird baths all along the brick wall to entice birds who come and lend their songs. This tranquil spot is a respite from summer heat and daily chores. It is a testament to one man's passion.
