This is a picture of some of the 500+ new library books which will be added to our collection at the start of the school year. The books arrived during the summer, and it is my responsibility and pleasure to familiarize myself with them by the time the kids show up looking for a good book.
Our library has over 30,000 volumes. Every year we weed (discard) the worn-out, no longer popular or outdated books which enables us to add more. That keeps our collection lively and fresh. It's a wonderful place for a book lover!
Now there's a summer reading list to tackle! Next time the kids complain about their summer reading projects, you should show them this! I bet it's actually kind of fun reading through all these though!
