As we waited for our canal boat ride, we heard a rich medley of tunes being played skillfully on a trumpet. I followed the sound to its source. This musician was playing under a bridge along the canal. What a wonderful sound reverberated from the brick walls. He told me he had recently moved to Richmond from California and was playing nights in a club downtown. I felt lucky to get such a concert (and a photo) for the price of a gratuity in his open trumpet case.
Hearing special music and seeing this colorful artist will add a dimension to your cruise that you won't soon forget. We were visiting Arches National Park in Utah years ago and someone was sitting by one of the Arches playing their flute; I can still remember those sounds that you could hear long before you could actually see the musician.
I love this! I play trumpet :) I think it's cool that you found him and listened. haha In high school people just made fun of the kids who knew how to play like me... they thought we were all weird. :/ But I'm glad to know you appreciate music :)
