End of an Era

When my flight touched down at Dulles in Washington DC, we were all amazed to see the space shuttle. The pilot was kind enough to taxi close enough so we could take pictures. This is not The Discovery. When the last space shuttle was retired, it was taken to the Air & Space Museum in DC. The one you see here is the test shuttle that was formerly housed at the A & S Muesum. It is now being flown to NYC where it will be part of an Endeavor Installation. I felt privileged to see it.
And now I am off to my own bed. Tomorrow I hope to catch up on 365.
Well that was an added bonus to your trip! Great shot.

That was a great way to end your flight, capturing this piece of history. I cannot imagine the size of the museum where she will be parked.
