My broken foot left me with residual aches and pains, but I am not a fan of taking medicine. I happened to read the pharmacy column in Sunday's paper and learned of the miracle of tart cherry juice concentrate. Laugh if you want, but it is a great antioxidant and is reported to provide relief for arthritis, gout and other joint pain. (Google it if you don't believe me.) I ordered a 2 week supply and added 2 tablespoons to a Coke. It creates a delicious cherry coke and seemed to begin easing my stiff back the next day. It may be all in my mind, but I am giving it 2 weeks and then will decide whether i want to continue. I figure it can't hurt, it's not terribly expensive (better than a doctor) and it may enable me to go back to my long neighborhood walks. That alone would be worth it, I'll keep you informed,
Hey, if that works, you go for it. I have been taking natural MSM that I buy at Walmart for $8.95 a bottle of 90 capsules. Three 1000mg capsules a day for the past 5 years or more and have had relief from my severe low back pain that also included referred pain down the lateral side of my right ankle due to two partial herniated discs. I opted to try this instead of recommended surgery 6 years ago. If I stop taking it, in about two weeks the pain begins to return. Crazy? Nope, it goes away every time I go back on it, so it has saved me from the knife and narcotics.
well allison, i cannot say i've seen any ' tart cherry juice' on the shelves of our UK supermarkets...but then I cannot say I've looked. Cod Liver oil capsules are meant to be good for joints .....I have one with my Weetabix in the morning !!!
Nice shot, not too sure about drinking Coke though ....I rarely drink fizzy drinks !
