Duck Update

Some of my 365 friends expressed interest in status reports on Mrs. Mallard. As you can see, she is still faithfully tending her nest. Here is all the information I have to share with you, provided by Master Gardener and Naturalist Ellen.
April 2- no duck
April 4- duck and nest full of eggs!
A first grade teacher who was able to see the nest before Mama settled in for good, reports there are approximately 10 or 12 eggs.
Incubation is about 28 days.
So sometime around May 1 we should see a live portrayal of Robert McCloskey's classic, "Make Way for Ducklings"!
I hope to be on the scene to record the blessed event.
How exciting! I can't wait to see more of your pictures!
