These little rascals have always been much too quick for my reflexes and my camera. Today I used my zoom despite barely seeing him with my naked eye. I didn't realize til I downloaded the picture, that he was digging in the mulch with his head covered. That is probably why he wasn't spooked by me. One of these days I will get a real portrait like the fabulous one captured by @falcon11. Until then it will remain on my bucket list.
No mistaking that for other than a chipmunk! I understand the thrill! (I've been trying to capture a pelican, but they're typically out over the ocean. The other day I saw my chance, but using my P&S I couldn't see the image in the back...shot...and didn't see until I upliaded that I captured him "skipping across the water" leaving an arched trail of droplets! Didn't exactly fill the frame, but "good enough"!)
