A Most Unusual Iris
This Iris at Lewis Ginter has a very different shape than the ones we customarily see in the Spring. It blooms later, and it opens much wider. From a distance, it looks like a field of butterflies.

These look similar is shape to the wild irises here. Ours however are a much darker purple.
