This full length portrait at Agecroft Hall is especially noteworthy for two things— his two right feet (apparently the artist wasn’t good at painting feet) and the lines down the full length of the panel. It turns out that is seasonal. In cold weather the wood panels shrink and separate. In the summer the wood swells and the cracks disappear.
