Funny thing happened when I was taking this shot tonight. You've heard of the girl next door, right? Well, I was the CRAZY girl next door out with my tripod and camera set up in the rain, aiming at a neighbors windows (closed ones, luckily...I am not THAT nuts;-). And of course, who should walk out, but the neighbor as I am standing there aiming at their house. I quickly turned the tripod away and fiddled with the camera while innocently whistling. He didn't seem to notice me (maybe word has gotten around?) and went back inside so that I could fire off a couple of shots at his cool bike shadows in the garage windows. I'd been eyeing those shadows for weeks and I thought that it was good for the theme. Thus going out in the rain and getting nearly busted again for being such a nut job.
AHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Speaking as someone who is quite likely known to all her neighbors as "that crazy camera lady," this post just totally made my day. And yes, I literally laughed out loud. Pure. Awesomeness.
I hope he didn't think you were going to take pictures of him going to the bedroom or somewhere? If he is your neighbour, I am sure he doesn't. I think it is a neat shadow too!
I love your shot and your story even more, Amanda. Definitely a writer and definitely nuts. Lol. I sure hope your neighbors all like you or you may have some problems in the future when you do get caught.
Great story to go along with a great shot. Funny that your photographer's heart had been lusting after those shadows for weeks. ;-) LOVE your tags. LOL!
Hey guys, thanks so much for sharing a laugh with me about almost being busted being a pseudo peeping tom last night. HA! Oh my goodness, why does this kind of stuff always happen to me. Appreciated your great comments and laughter:)! Music to my ears!!
@wendyhgill I am not sure why this stuff always happens to me, but I sorta love it. There is nothing like a great story! Tell me about your writing...I think that your bio says you are a writer. I want to get into writing. Contemplating book ideas.
hahahahahahah! still laughing! LOve the shadows and the negative space, worth getting caught red handed for. I almost dropped my camera from 3m high trying to tak a shot of the neighbours roses from above!
@automaticslim@frida Thanks so much, Andy and Frida. I love to tell a good story and am happy when things go wrong like this. Especially when I don't get arrested and live to tell about it. Thanks for enjoying the story and the image:)!
@amandaalomonaco Love the colours and great POV. FAV'd. Gone through your albums and you can see your progression in your photography. However, I didn't see any urban shots. So how about trying to capture an old or abandoned building and portray the decay and dereliction.
