The Bloomin' Pathway (After the Storm) by alophoto

The Bloomin' Pathway (After the Storm)

I took the clean and shiny version of this shot a couple of days ago when the trees were in the height of their bloomdom. I will post that shot in my extra album today so you can see the before and after: http://365project.org/amandal/themes-challeng/2013-04-15.

I retook the photo today after we had a pretty wicked hail (the worst one I'd ever seen) and rain storm yesterday evening. The new blooms were pummeled hard and many are lying in the road and along the sidewalks. Our front window screens were ripped and filled with holes from the pounding hail. It was nuts to see the hail piled up on the inside of the screens.

I decided to go with this photo today because it shows that even despite the storm, there is still beauty: Beauty in the mess, beauty in the chaos.

It reminds me of the recent events in Boston. How we as a people come together to support one another in tragic times such as these. May we always be a people who lean on and hold up one another helping those who are hurting and in need and walk through the ugliness and chaos more determined, more properly focused and more reliant on God on the other side.

I am so very grateful that my cousin crossed the finish line in Boston just 4 minutes before the blast...she walked away safely. Praise God. Praying for the families who lost, the people who are injured, those who are living in fear, and that the person who committed this evil deed will be found and put to justice. Evil plans, people and powers will not prevail, even though it seems like it at times. Take heart: God is stronger that his wicked adversary and He will triumph in the end!
OMG. What a difference.

I like the before and after sequence. It would make a good diptych.

We always lose the blossoms here within a few days, high winds usually, although you seem to have sufferred a bad bout of weather there. Boston is awful, who in their right mind would target a charity event!?

Wow...So sad to see the blossoms scattered.
April 17th, 2013
The photo is just beautiful and does convey the beauty after the storm. I'm glad to know your cousin is safe and sound. I think dh's idea of a diptych is a great one.

Wow that is carnege. Great before and after shots. I'm also glad you cousin was okay. I have a friend who lived in Boston for a long time and several of his friends were running and thankfully all are safe and well.

@katiebrenkert It was nuts. Landen area gets all the crazy weather...most snow, most hail, etc!!

@seanoneill I love that you pop in and are still around checking up on us from time to time. Thanks for your comments, Sean. Always appreciated. You watch more Reds baseball than I do and I live here. It is really big here. I still need to get to a game. Hey and I did a new red selife yesterday (I was wearing red accents anyway). Trying to get a good artsy selfie to potentially use as my profile to start selling (or hoping to sell) photos.
