A month or so ago, I spotted an abandoned looking house off of the bike path, up a hill and through the brush. Today, Jen and I were running along the same path and I asked if she would come and check it out with me. We waded through brush and climbed a steep hill to get there (I even got a branch in the face). As we were walking, I imagined snakes hiding in the tall grasses/plants. She even mentioned that the weedy plants we were stepping through may be poison ivy. I've been itching ever since.
We poked around and then continued on with our run. After we finished, we drove closer to the spot, parked and went back with my camera. What a good friend I have in Jen. She even pointed out this spider web to me for a shot idea.
Today was the last day of preschool for Clara and I will have her home with me now full time until she starts Kindergarten (not next fall but the following). No more adventures in the poison ivy for me for awhile. But oh, it was fun...I felt alive.
I set a goal recently to figure out how to get a decent sunflare with my dslr. Today I played and did what I thought I should do and it work mighty fine. I was pleased.
Please view large to see the wonderful web art of the spider.
@snaggy Aw, thank so much, Kev. Really appreciate you seeing the beauty in this and faving it. I had better photos, but I really liked all of the elements in play all in one in this shot. It captured my time yesterday. I put a rainbow version of the web in my secondary album and it got lots of love and favs. It kinda annoyed me that I put it in an album that doesn't get as many views and comments. Oh well. Thanks again so much!:) It is always good to know that someone else gets you.
@rockinrobyn I love that about my after 365 eyes now. I could have spent hours photographing that place. I took maybe 70 photos while my friend so patiently waited. She is a saint. Thanks, Robyn!!
Thanks so much for your great comments, friends. I had a better photo of the flare. Several were amazing, but I did like that this one included the house, web, spider and flare. So much going on. Really appreciated your taking the time for your sweet words!
I think they're both pretty - I love the rainbows in the other, but this is my favorite of the two. Love the perfect sunflare and all the wonderful backlighting and outlining! I love how the spider glows. Beautiful! Fave!
Good friends of ours just had another little Clara three days ago...such a cute name.
