Today will be filled with photo deleting (freeing up some memory on our old computer), camera battery charging, packing and prepping for my early am departure tomorrow.
Have a happy weekend! Can't wait to see you all next week and hopefully share some good photos from my NYC trip and meet up.
I think I will go for a haircut today in prep for meetup. Very excited to see you and all of our friends tomorrow. Have a safe trip Amanda. B- on your penmanship ;)
have a great time in NYC! i've never been there myself, but in looking at all the great 365 pics coming from there i want to go even more now! looking forward to your pics...and try to get some of the meetup so we can see all your pretty faces!
Ooh, I'm still so jealous, but at the same time so very happy for you! Have an amazing time and I can't wait to hear/read all about it and see the amazing shots you'll come back with! Yay!
@adamj Yeah, my handwriting stinks!! Thanks for noticing. Seriously are you getting a haircut? Funny. See you tomorrow. The weather is pretty awesome today. Hope it continues!
@michaelelliott Glad you do, though no one seemed to get it with the newspaper...start spreading the news. Oh well. I tried. I had intended to have a large apple in the shot and focus on that, but one wasn't in the house. I improvised and used my son's plane and landmark book instead. I'm here, staying up north with my cousin. We will be taking the train from Mamaroneck. I need to ask her and try to figure out where to get off to find the park. Hope we make it there on time. Planning to get an early start to be able to see some things first and find Bryant. Happy Friday. See you tomorrow.
@amandal If you are taking the train (Metro North), that takes you into Grand Central Terminal. Just walk west on 42nd Street and you will see the park behind the NY Public Library. 10 minute walk from Grand Central.
@adamj WooHOO. I've been dying to see Grand Central. Hoping that there is a dancing couple or bride there. I hear that happens from time to time. Thanks, man. I sent Michael my cell number in case we are not there in time. Hope someone will call to check on us.
I was just reading your comment above and your title. I should have mentioned that I love that song by Tony Bennett. Perfect song to post and photo for your trip to NYC. Hope you are having a blast.
@darsphotos Hugs were had all around. It was like we were all old friends. Such a wonderful group and Michael was a super host and planner. I couldn't have had a better experience!
Thanks all so much for your comments. It was all that I could have hoped for and more. I was not disappointed. Just dying to get home and upload my images. Hope that the computer has the memory to download all of them! I really wish that we all could meet up sometime. It was so amazing to be in a group of like minded people. It was like we had known each other forever...fast friends. Micheal was the best photography tour guide of NYC possible. I had a once in a lifetime experience and am forever grateful that I went. If a meet up presents itself in your area, join in. It is so very worth it!
@amandal Totally agree with you. I've made some really nice and great friends IRL stemming from right here! In fact... one is coming to visit me next week which I'm super excited about!! She lives on the other side of the country to me but is visiting her sister, which means that she's not too far from me and I get a visit too!! @onie
So cool that you could do that... I don't know if I'd have the gumption to meet up that way. I'm actually headed to NYC for work this coming weekend—missed it by a week!
@phillyphotos You got that right, lady. I posted my conference room shot of it yesterday. Such a great, great day. I've been enjoying your photos from it. Especially that pano one!
You are so right about feeling like old friends when you meet someone from online. Non-internet forum people don't understand and I've heard them make snide comments about imaginary friends and how you can't know someone just from typing to them online.
Ha! You can (usually) get a good feel for someone online and it's an instant 'click' when you do meet in person, especially if you share a common interest, which you likely would if you met in a forum online.
I didn't realize it was such a large group meet. WOW. Color me green. ;-)
@pasadenarose Thanks so much. It was pretty awesome. Hope so much to do it again someday. And must get on planning another one here. Do you have any local 365ers by you?
Yes, @webfoot. We were friends before 365 actually. He's the one who got me hooked on this blasted addiction!! LOL
We did a photo walk late January in Los Angeles...Chinatown, Little Tokyo and more.

Several other shots in my alternate album that month.
Funnily, we met through another online forum for geocaching. The first time we met in person we went for a remote hike with yet another male geocacher that he knew who I had never even heard of. But I knew Paul was a good guy from all of our online interactions and from observing his interactions with others. A friend of mine was totally freaked out that I'd go off with strange men on a hike! But I was sure I'd be fine and I was. They were complete gentlemen. :-)
Haha! When my DC friends and I visited NYC for the first time, we were in an RV and we must have played this song about a 100 times on the way there! Great memories, thanks!
@pasadenarose He seems like a nice guy. How cool to have another friend there with you to shoot with. I've got to take advantage of the fact that I have a big group here with me. Must start planning another meet up. I love geocaching...thanks for the reminder about that.
@tabbycat How fun. I remember listening to UB40 one summer as I was flying into Jamaica to get me in the mood for reggae!
