This box turtle was so funny checking us/me out at a nature museum yesterday. I've never seen such an alert looking turtle, with his head fully extended and his little turtle eyes giving me an intense stare down. You can even see his pig like nose. He crawled right over the the side of his enclosure to get in my face as I was attempting to take a photo of him. We shared a moment and I was grateful for that. Please pardon the lack of sharp clarity in this photo. It was taken through a plexiglass enclosure (which probably had children's finger prints all over it), he was moving, my lens was giving me focus issues...it kills me sometimes, really it does, and I was still feeling the effects of my alcohol from yesterday;-).
Thanks to you all for your marvelous support, comments, and fun banter. I am super stoked today as my silly Red Riding Hood selfie from last week made it to the top 20 this week. It's my first real selfie to make it up there (the other was the red jacket gazebo shot at night, but I was so tiny that it wasn't much of a selfie). This year a big goal of mine was to master the selfie, so to make TT for one is such a big honor for me. And I am doing a Red Riding Hood follow up this weekend so stay tuned...
Just look at his expression! Wonderful detail on his face in particular. I can see you bonded with each other ;-) He really makes me smile. Congrats on well deserved TT Amanda!
@bobfoto Wish he'd been a frog. Shoot there was a frog in the next enclosure. I should have shot him, too. Maybe he would have been more still for me. I missed out on a frog this week. I walked up to a lily pad pond hoping for a flower and a frog jumps into the water. I stake it out stalking the green guy and don't ever see him surface. I was hoping for a frog eyes shot. Darn frogs. This guy wanted his photo taken, though. Happy weekend!
@rob257 Really appreciate the fav, Rob. Nice to see you again!
@friend2303 I loved his face!! Thanks!
@pablo1 Thanks for the fav, Pablo!:)
@psychographer Thanks so much, Lisa! I was so pleased to finally do well with a selfie!
And I can't get over the idea that he called you 'Dude'. ;-)
