We are having to make some major decisions rather quickly as a result of a bit of hard news I received this week. I got notice from our landlord that she wishes to sell the home that we are renting. We are not interested in purchasing it...not good for our family for the long term. At first, this news made me feel sick. But quickly after, I felt hopeful and excited. I kind of thrive with change. I did a search online and the first home that I found was EXACTLY what and where we are looking. The price is right, too. Just perfect seeming and I don't believe that it was a mere coincidence or luck.
We saw the place, loved it and are in the process of negotiations with the owner. We will see what happens, but I do feel completely at peace about what is in store. A couple years ago, Michael was laid off and we saw how God provided for us in mighty ways and eventually gave him 3 jobs to choose from at once. During that time of uncertainty, we had the sweetest time with the Lord. Felt close to Him, felt like we were given encouragement and even word from Him when we needed it. I was just thinking the other day that I missed that time. It's easy to be far from God when things are going fine. I should be careful what I wish for:). No, seriously hopeful and looking forward to the exciting changes that are in store. And praying that the Lord would lead our steps and light the way.
This is the Point Iroquois Lighthouse and was taken on one of my best photography days during our Michigan vacation. It sits on the shores of Lake Huron. Loved the painterly look of it with the grasses here.
If you are praying folk, please pray for wisdom for us and that we will soon have the perfect place to live. Can't wait to share the good news!:)
Beautiful shot. Your story is compelling Amanda, and I am sending you all the positive and hopeful vibes that I can muster. I am no stranger to upheaval and new beginnings. If you are so inclined, keep me posted.
This is a beautiful shot of the lighthouse. I have a fondness for them, as I live by Lake Superior. I will keep you and your family in my prayers as you enter into a new beginning. God Bless
you can never go wrong with a lighthouse, imho. A lot of times when we get news that initially seems bad, especially if it forces us to relocate, its usually because we've stayed somewhere longer than God intended, so He has to give us a bit of a push to get us to go where He needs us to be... but we still ultimately have the choice of where to go and circumstances that seem perfect may actually be temptations put in our path to to prevent us from ending up where we need to be... we never know until the choice has been finalized and see how it impacts not only us, but others as well.... so I will definitely be praying that God gives you wisdom and the vision to see clearly the path you should take
A wonderful photo and testimony to your faith! Sometimes the Lord has to shake us a bit to get us to move in His direction! I will certainly be praying for wisdom for you, as you seek His place for you. His wisdom gives us peace.
Very interestong that you post a shot of bricks and mortar today (very pretyy bricks and mortar). Maybe this is a real chance for you and your family. You seem to be such a positive person - just believe and I am sure it will turn out just right! Will look forward to hearing your exciting news when the day comes.
Beautiful composition and beautiful, encouraging thoughts. I too, am waiting for God to provide as my husband seeks income replacement for two significant streams of income that officially end this month. He's never let us down yet, but it can be a challenge to wait . . .
I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason and although we might not know why at the time it does become clear later. Thinking of you guys and hope it all falls into place.
The same thing happened to me about 40 years ago, and I ended up buying our first house. It worked out great! Of course you have my prayers. Your lighthouse shot is very appropriate.
Wonderful shot and feeling for you. Whilst I am a very spiritual person, I am not religious cant help on the prayer front but whilst not always clear at the time I strongly believe that things happen for a reason. It will all work out, positive thoughts sent your way :-)
Awesome capture. Love lighthouses. This October, NJ is hosting a two day, free lighthouse tour thingy. All 13 of our states lighthouses will be free for exploration. Hoping to take the kids. Should be fun.
Sorry to hear about the news. Change comes so quickly sometimes, but you and your family have a great attitude towards the unfortunate news. I'm sure things will work out for you. :)
Thanks all so much for your sweet words of encouragement, offer of prayers and thoughtful responses. Just an update, we are still moving forward with the house we found. Applied today and hope to get an inspection this week. It seems to be coming together and I am hopeful and grateful! Thank you again:)!
A beautiful lighthouse shot! Wonderful composition. Best wishes and prayers on your new adventure! Having sold real estate in my previous life...I know how stressful this can be, if it is meant to be (and it sounds like it is) it will happen. Patience for sure! Looking forward to updates!
lovely shot amanda. Also on a spiritual note. Thro my own experiences in life I can share that god always provides. Maybe not what I hoped for in the time scale I would like. I trust you & your family will be provided with what you need. :-)
@darsphotos Thanks so much, sweet lady!! Working out well so far. Can't wait to see what will happen!!
@eyesmile Thanks so very much, Gena. Looking forward to it all coming together...so far the place we found seems to be coming along. Appreciate the prayers!:)
@chezza Such true and wise words. We experienced my husband being laid off twice in our marriage...most recently two years ago. It was an amazing thing seeing how God provided for our family so abundantly during that time. Looking forward to what He provides as usually it is so very good!
Woke up my eyes for sure. Beautiful composition, Amanda. Nicely done!
