So there are times when I just look at my kids and think about how freaking amazing and precious they are.
Today was one of those days. I was going for a walk with Clara and the dog and was intentionally not bringing my camera. I love the freedom of not having it, yes I miss shots, but I like that I only shoot when I feel like it now. I try to limit my photography to a few days a week or really when the whim strikes.
As I met up with Clara to go, I noticed that she was in this amazing get up...her hot pink cowgirl boots and a hat. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! And she was bringing her teddy along. We walked, I melted over her stinkin' cuteness and I requested a quick photo shoot when we got home at our back gate (a place I've wanted to do a shoot at). She obliged me:).
I used the 35mm again and the external flash...it was pretty gray out, but the flash blew out most of the shots, including this one. I like how editing can fix things, though.
Tonight and tomorrow is my first ever photography event. I was asked to shoot the ladies retreat at church this weekend. I hope to do a good job and still be able to participate.
@kareenking Thanks, lady. This is a special one to me, as you can imagine, so that means a lot:).
@soboy5 I need to make it MINE:). Hope that I can rock it at the event this weekend. Indoor, low light, and a crowd. Really appreciate your kind words, Danny!
superb high key shot and super softness to this image - i think she will always be a unique little dresser :o) i would be nervous about tomorrow and also very excited! looking forward to the results (camera also means you can perhaps not participate with valid excuse yay if don't fancy doing something!)
Every element just works so well -- the quirky-cute wardrobe, the rustic gate, Clara's adorable expression, the vintage tones and, last but not least, the teddy bear. Fav!
That's beautiful. Love the tones. Clara's expression is so sweet and solemn.
I see beautiful images, like this one of yours, of children made by their parents on 365 and I'm so envious. I would have loved to have been able to make such beautiful memories of my own children but had no idea that it was possible.
I love this shot, Amanda. Your processing is perfect. The detail is so amazing that you captured. It is like I am there. FAV Have fun with the photo shoot.
Awwwwww, she is really a sweetie and what a great shot of her ---composition and tones also make this a fav. She reminds me so much of my granddaughter Hope (when she was that age) who will be 8 on April 18.
@cathieg Oh my gosh, I can't stand it sometimes;-). Thanks, lady!!
@cimes1 Our dog is Hope, Clara's middle name is Joy. And her birthday is on April 19th. So close and coincidental. Thanks so much, my friend!
@northy Thanks, Northy! She really is such a super model for me. I took this and told her it could be one of her cutest photos yet...surely it will be a favorite down the road.
@rachelwithey Thank you so much, Rachel. I so adored your amazing portrait this week...it was like one of the masters. Wish I could have faved it more!
@darsphotos Thanks so much, Darlene. It was tough and a learning experience for sure. I have much to learn. So appreciate your kind fav!
Totally adorable and an award winner for sure. I can't believe how much she looks like you. Now, why should that surprise me I don't know. I think she must have a bit of her mom in her with her cute get up!! Big FAV
@soboy5 I need to make it MINE:). Hope that I can rock it at the event this weekend. Indoor, low light, and a crowd. Really appreciate your kind words, Danny!
@hopelessromantic Thanks, Peter. Thanks so much!
@anazad511 Oh thank you, Ana. I just had to use the gate for a shot. More to come here, I bet. Happy weekend!!!
