The summer is nearly over. Her rays aren't so warm now. Her blue skies are fading. The fireflies have long since winked out. She was a good summer, full of swimming, watermelon, giggles, family vacations, root beer floats, free time.
We'll enjoy the last few days of summer, though she quite feels like fall now and is giving us the cold shoulder. And looking forward to our next season. So so grateful for 4 distinct seasons. It's always such a nice change.
Beautiful shot, love the light but whilst autumn is beautiful, am sad that the days are getting shorter, the mornings are cooler, the summer clothes will soon have to be pit away and am off to buy some tights for the girls... Pretty autumn pictures to come though :-)
Love the sun flare - and always enjoy your enthusiasm and happy approach to life. We're having an extended summer here in the UK - feels more like July than September.
Such a beautiful shot and love what you wrote so well as usual. It is still Summer here though some trees are turning. We might get a bit of rain tonight into tomorrow. Yeah! We need it desperately. I am glad you posted this photo as I get light streaks below like in this photo and thought there was a problem with my camera. I will not trash those photos any longer. Learning something new all of the time. FAV Sorry I am so far behind.
@darsphotos No worries. Sometimes I don't like it when this happens, but this time I did. Nope, not always trash. Just had an awesome lesson with the photographer and she taught me some manual tricks. Thanks so much for your wonderful comments and faves. Enjoy your birthday! Any fun plans?
@amandal You are right as the light below is like an extension of the rays of light coming from the sun. So glad you had the chance to spend time with the photographer. Looking forward to seeing your photos. Sure wish I could have purchased a DSLR. So many expenses right now and some medical stuff that could end up costing us quite a bit for me, will find out in a month. Long wait for this ultrasound to be done, 3 more weeks and then a week to see the Dr. You are so very welcome for the comments and favs. Love your photos. Thank you. Will pick up Mexican to go or eat there, here in Elk Grove. A new place we found that has really good food. Take care.
@amandal I have the Panasonic for now that I have to learn to use properly. Not much info attached to it an actually more work than a DSLR in my mind and not as easy to figure out though you use lenses and some settings where here I have to use all settings to get what I want. One day a DSLR will enter my life. Meantime, old age, vein and swelling, etc. Ultrasound will tell what is going on, may be from DVT, blood clot I had in 2003 causing vein problems. Amazing to have to wait so long to get this test done. Will let you know how it goes. Enjoy the rest of your day my friend.
It is so sad that the summer is over! I had a wonderful time this summer. I love fall in New England, but HATE that winter follows it. Boots, coats, hats, mittens...ugh! Love the warm flare you captured here.
@newbank I've sold none, and they do the printing and fulfilling and pay me. They mark up to cover their costs. I probably need to update my photos? Who knows. I need also to start looking into stock sites.
@amandal the photos are lovely. Contemplated looking into stock websites myself but don't feel good enough yet.... It's a possible idea for myself in the future.
@newbank I have "sold" a couple of things to friends who paid me in gift cards. I hadn't expected any pay. Just ordered a much needed camera bag with one of the cards. Thanks, sweet lady!!
Thanks so much, ladies. I am so enjoying the anticipation of fall and all things pumpkin:).
