I think that fall may be in it's height here. It's really gorgeous out there and the leaves are steadily raining down. Yesterday, it was almost like a snow flurry, but leaves swirling around instead of snow.
The days have been wet and kinda gross, but I forced myself to get out for a little bit yesterday before the kids got home. I drove to a local park hoping to get the lake and colors, but the rain picked up and I shot a few from the car and came home. On my way home, I toured the neighborhood looking for color.
This is from a friends side yard, a fellow stay at home parent in the neighborhood...a magician. Do you suppose he made his leaves look so magical and yellow? Nope, but what a sight, what a view. And this was only an out the car window shot. I couldn't capture that this goes down into a ravine, a big deep sea of yellow.
Hope your day is gorgeous and sunshiney. And thank you so much for your amazing comments on my failure selfie yesterday. You all are amazingly kind and supportive!!!!
I know what you mean about the poof! I went back to take a picture of a tree I saw the previous day and it was almost naked.Love this capture!Fall is so ephemeral!
So much colour...gorgeous! We get colour like this here but just not enough of it. Our forests are filled with so many evergreen type trees we don't get drama of numbers like in your shot.
What an amazing side yard. Love the yellow and your photo of it. It has got to be my favorite color in fall and we see so little of it around here. Beautifully done my friend. FAV
beautiful. nature is so beautiful, isn't she? you captured the season so well. i'm planning on joining a women's camera club here and attending their meeting tomorrow which is a walkabout in a trail around here in toronto. i hope to capture something like this, and discover too what's right next in my neighbourhood.
@summerfield Ah so fun!!! Love that it's just for girls. I had a nice walkabout with Meg today. Sad that Cathy Donohoue couldn't make it, though. Have you met Edie yet? Wish I could join you tomorrow!!!
@amandal - you know, i wish you could, too! i also wish northy is not always that busy so we could do our walkabouts. she seems okay on her own. i wanted to go on this trail walk but i'm afraid i might see snakes. i'm really getting old, my daring days are over methinks! :-)
@summerfield I went out in the woods by myself the other day. I don't usually do that. I am very cautious and like to go with someone else. You should meet Edie. She is really a cool lady and local now, too. @edie and maybe M would free up and you could go out the 3 of you!
@amandal - i always joked that @edie is not real, because the few times she was supposed to meet up with us she bailed out last minute or had a shooting gig or something and i always wanted to meet her. she has this mysterious charisma, just look at her eyes in her photos.
M is so fascinating to watch when she's at work. i have this shot in my head, i turn around and see her and i would just stand there and watch her. she's so fluid, and quiet. and she's quite helpful but i try not to disturb her too much. i just go about my business, too. i think i will post tonight a photo of her from last year. i got her permission the last time we were together and i yet have to do it.
i'll case the trail tomorrow and maybe get together with the two of them to shoot there. what's the next theme for hatters? ah, don't tell me. :-)
@mzzhope And I lost again. But pretty freakin awesome to be in it two weeks in a row. Only times for main theme this year. One day I'll win it, I hope. I want to pick a theme!
