Only 2 weeks left til the end of the school year and summer vacation.
2 more weeks of my girls riding the bus together. In my first year of the project, I got a photo of Clara waving goodbye to her big sister on the bus here: http://365project.org/alophoto/365/2012-10-26 and now they are seatmates.
It has been a sweet thing watching my girls standing out and waiting for the bus together and seeing their smiling (most of the time) faces in the bus window as we wave and blow kisses each morning.
Next year, Emily changes schools and will be with her big brother and for the next 3 years Clara will ride the bus alone, siblingless.
And when they are together again, my girls will be big...10 and 13 riding the bus. Too old to blow kisses to their mom in the window.
I had to get this shot while I still could. On a sunny day when my girls were in a good mood.
I warned them I would be taking it and asked if they would smile rather than give me a mad face like they sometimes do. They cooperated and even the sweet bus driver went real slow until I gave her the thumbs up. She must be a photographer too or at least she understood.
Glad to capture this sweet time in my life and dear memory for the books.
Sweet sentimental moment. Thanks for sharing. My oldest son moved to Middle School last year from our Elementary School where he attended with my youngest. We are in walking distance so we would walk together until the end of last school year. It's nice to know they are growing up and gaining their independence but it's an emotionally charged time, too. Lovely photo!
The ILY sign is what caught my eye because I still give AND get this from my children AND grandchildren whenever they leave my house from a visit. Beautiful smiles framed by the window
Ah, this is the sweetest shot! My youngest will also be without a sibling next year and he is not looking forward to it. Time seems to slip away...so wonderful you captured the moment.
VERY PRECIOUS. I'd like the frowning faces too! I'm always drawn to the authentic, rather than the blissful for some reason. I suppose it's for the same reason I don't care for Facebook, as most always seems like the spot to brag. Life is sometimes happy, sometimes sad, sometimes mad, sometimes tragic, sometimes funny....the beauty lies in the full spectrum :-)
