This summer, I read the classic book, Where the Red Fern Grows to the kids. It was about a boy who became a coon hunter with his two beloved hound pups. It was actually kind of boring with hunting tales of treeing them coons.
Anyway, it was pretty cool to have these sleepy raccoons out snoozing in our backyard trees. Lucas spotted them way up there with his eagle eyes our our family room window. How many do you see? I count 4.
Oh this summer is kicking my butt. I've been exhausted and overwhelmed lately. So busy and so not able to fit in taking care of myself very well. Makes me more tired and stressed which is a bummer.
I only see three. Fun in your backyard but they can be super messy and invasive too. Hope you take time for yourself. I agree, a nap would be great. Nice shot. 104 yesterday and over 100 all week long here. So dry as well. Cannot wait for Fall weather.
You lot- complaining about the hot weather! Just yesterday you were wishing for it! lol... One understands why people in the tropics move so slowly! I can see four too - hope they don't come to your door? Sharp teeth and claws?
LOL @maggiemae
As much as I know you love your children, it can be exhausting having them around all the time. Once summer starts winding down a little you may have more time for yourself to recharge.
Little stinkers! The little ones always make the biggest mess :) I used to love that story when I was little - today I found it boring, as you said. I don't remember the movie much. Do you know if it was any good?
This is so fabulous! Pam Knowler @pamknowler is visiting us in Nova Scotia & seeing raccoons for the first time. She asked where they went during the day, and this is the perfect "photo reply"! Marvelous!
