Pebbles... take me back in time...
Remind me of my childhood...
Simple joys for me...
Collecting pebbles, shells...
Playing 5 stones...
Running around aimlessly...
Making water tea...
Believing those who were sipping it
Savoured every sip...
Today, around me I see...
Children with...
iPads, iPods, PS3s
I wonder...
If they would feel a pebble,
see it glisten in water ...
marvel at its beauty...
I wonder...
Does anyone run aimlessly?
Does anyone make water tea?
Wonderful image!Your words resonate ! Imaginative play is critical to emotional, social ,cognitive and spiritual development.I am worried for children who are disconnected from the natural world.
yesterday was my birthday and as I get older I love to walk down memory lane with friends and remember all the little things and some of the big things from days goneby
Right there with you Amrita! Love your poem - perfect for your photograph! I used to love collecting pebbles (I still pick up stones I like at the beach!!). Especially loved throwing pebbles into the water and watching the ripples!
Happy days! : ))
wonderful thoughts .. I so agree with you ... the simple joys of childhood ...ahh ... great shot .. like the PoV .... BTW ... with the feet ...Pakeezah's "Inhe zameen par mat utariyega, maile ho jayenge. " was the first thought ...haha :-)
Sadly my answer would be that these children do not see the pebbles at your feet. They ought to admire the beauty in this world because like youth it is fleeting. Wonderful sentiment and creative expression.
@mzzhope Hope, I do appreciate your words, they are literally disconnected from the natural world. @rennes Me too Lisa, though don't get a chance to indulge in these simple pleasures, thanks for your words.
Happy days! : ))
@zambianlass. Thanks for all your appreciative words!

The sandals and pedicure weren't part of the plan, ... they just walked into the shot , just the pebbles were... :-) Thanks for your comments.
@rennes Thanks Lisa, truly Happy Days...
@rennes Me too Lisa, though don't get a chance to indulge in these simple pleasures, thanks for your words.
