Seeing birds opening wide & figured it had to do with our 90degreeF (32C) weather. Read they don’t have sweat glands and this is one way they regulate their temperature. Increases airflow.

Oh how interesting, I didn't know that! Poor wee thing. I don't like the heat either and we have been having a heatwave in the UK the past few weeks too. No end in sight yet!
