Great black wasp

Getting caught up. Had a 4 day visit with my husband’s brother and sister-in-law. Had not seen them in many years.
Spotted this on our dog walk this morning—very noticeable as it was large and has some iridescent blue on the wings. Think I have it identified correctly.
