Just read about these in a recent newsletter from our local nature center. They had spotted some of these and they are considered rare. We were surprised to find them on our walk today on the Anderson Nature Trail at Bay City state park. They are a fall blooming flower and the flowers only open on sunny days, stay closed when overcast.
