Blue Boat by andycoleborn

Blue Boat

This is the outcome of an hour messing about with pretty much all the various features and options available on the photoshop (CS2) package I have on my PC in work.

Can't say I am overly thrilled or that it's a good photo or that there has been any half decent post-processing done...

In fact, I really didn't have a clue what I wanted to achieve or what I was actually doing...

I rarely use PS and am not that familiar with what it can do (apart from the odd occasion I lighten/darken a shot or remove some marks) so given I was not selected for jury service today and made it into work at lunchtime only to find myself the only bod in, I thought I would spend some time messing about with a photo I'd taken on the way to work whilst doing some printing which was outstanding (not brain testing work but hey.. it's Friday..).

Stopped off at he Docklands Sailing Centre on the Isle of Dogs on the way to work to grab some photos, nothing to interesting hence the messing about...
Hey Andy, do you shoot in RAW? Because if you do then Photoshop would probably make more of a difference for you.

@vikdaddy I have occasionally and this was shot in RAW, but truth is, I need to know what I wanted to achieve AND how to do it so sort of used today's spare time a a bit of experimenting...

someone gave me PS C4 recently but I have yet to really start playing around with it and continue to use PSE because I am familiar with it. You are right you need to know what you want to do before you can figure out how to do! I do sometimes just peruse PS tutorials till I see something I want to try. youtube has a bunch...I do like how the lighting fades from front to back on this photo

I am with Freida, I like this photo. The lighting gives the feeling of this boat being abandoned. Great focus on the boat.

This is beautiful Andy, look at what you've got after messing around. :-)
I see a boat with so many stories to tell, resting placidly for tomorrow's adventure. Lovely!
