These seagulls have a lot to answer for! Because of this shot, my 25 train journey turned into a 2.5 hour nightmare!
When I got to the station about 5ish, all was ok and my train was due in 5 minutes. There was another due 10 minutes later so I decided to give the first train a miss and quick marched the short distance to the river, grab a quick and easy sunset shot (being lazy today...) and get back to the station for the later train...
So off I go, get my photo for the day, get back to the station and find everything's gone kaput!!
Apparently a car had an arguement with a bridge somewhere down the line...
So, three different train journeys later and much hanging about at various stations, I finally get home about 7:30pm!
And as for the pic... shame about the post in the middle, but nothing I could do I'm afraid... The Shard is the large building (UK's tallest) in the distance - and the eagle eyed might just be able to spot the London Eye...
I quite like that post being in the way, if anything I'd say it's a mild nause that the Sun wasn't completely eclipsed by it (my symmetry-desiring nerdbrain at work there). I like it.
thanks guys @eyebrows haha.. I did take that one as well - but after a bit of flicking between the two, decided on this one sa I thought the colours were a bit nicer..
Oh I hate journey's like that, all too often happens in London. I like the picture though, the silhouette of the city is stunning, and the gulls really set it off, wonderful! Have a fab weekend!
Very nice shot! Actually the post in the middle makes for a different sunset - I like the way you captured half of the sun - look slike the yin-yang symbol! Well done :)
(oh...and I did spot the London Eye hehehe)
I am eagle-eyed. Sorry about the commuting nightmare. My last two public transit commutes leave much to be desired, but neither one was as late as 7:30. Serious bummer. Lovely shot though. Fabulous color. I love a sunset!
Pretty! I like the post. And the exposure would have been quite different without it....but I'm guessing you could have easily adjusted for that (more easily than some of us!) Sorry about the longer commute - but life keeps things interesting...

It's lovely though, the birds in the foreground are the cherry on the cake :)
