Had my weekly meeting with my census coordinator this evening and on the way home, I stopped off at a parkland area and took a wander about looking for something to take.
I was planning on photographing a viaduct but then noticed a field of perhaps 20 or so horses.. I think these might be gypsy horses as they all had that scruffy look...
I jumped the small fence to get up close and rested the camera on the ground. This guy has a fantastic tash... I had to use my P&S as a colleague has the work's DSLR tonight and as I took this a little late in the evening, the light wasn't the best.
As this wasn't the sharpest of shots, I thought I'd try the HDR-ish option in picnik for the first time. I think this looks better enlarged. Not sure whether it works or not and for me, the jury is still out on the HDR lark.. Subtle looks good, but I feel it can be taken to extreme on occasion.
Spent the day in an equality & diveristy training course... was ok but one colleague got himself worked up when he was told he can't say "babe, love, darling" etc to his female colleagues...
I did find out the term "lady" is now classified as offensive because of it's class connections!!!!! So sorry ladies, I have to call you women from now on..!
Love the horse...! Had a couple as a young girl and will always have a place in my heart for them. And personally, I think being called a 'lady' is nice....I'd tell Mr. Got-worked-up-over-not-being-able-to-use-babe, love, darling, etc. to avoid 'Old Nag' as well... ;)
love this, looks like the horse is hoovering the grass up! have you watched the American Office? there's an episode all about equality and diversity training...hilarious!
Great shot! Lovely perspective and composition! I agree about the HDR...sometimes doesnt look good when it does its really cool! I find it seems to work best where u need to accentuate lines or textures.
This is ace. Memories of The Banana Splits guys.
@smallenburg yep... you can just see it here but was a really odd thing...
