Hard to believe today marks 10 years since the 9/11 attacks.. How quickly time has gone.
I remember a colleague phoned to say a plane had crashed into one of the towers, so another colleague got out his mini protable tv and the rest of us crowded around to try and see what was happening...
Back then,we only had one PC connected to the internet (believe it or not) and that was down due to the high traffic...
There was a saying that everyone remembered where they were when JFK was shot... I will certainly never forget where I was on 9 Sept 2001..
Yup I will always remember as well...just finished doing Yoga when my husband told me to turn on the TV so surreal that day was. The hardest part was thinking of what to say to my kids....
I will also remember that day as long as I live. Like you, I was at work and learned about this by email. We also crowded around my pc (which was one of the few with an internet connection), only to find out that all the news pages were down due to high traffic. It wasn't before I came home that I saw all the horror...

Lovely photo Andy. It's been so heart warming for me to see how deeply 9/11 effected everyone around the world and not just us in NY or in US. The bond between all decent loving people is stronger than the evil that's out there.
nice sneaky shot. yeah remember that day well, was at work, getting new pcs fitted after a break in. when the news started to come in we dragged out an old portable tv to watch with our jaws on the floor
you are sneaky! I think we will all remember what we were doing that day. It's been strange. I've avoided tv today because it can still make me choke up when I see the pictures and start thinking about how many lives were lost because of that evil.
Just backtracked and found this. A beautiful shot on a terrible day. I'd just met a friend who told me there had been an accident and a plane had hit a sky scraper. When I got home and put the tv on, the rest is history. I do also remember how I heard the news about JFK and also John Lennon.......
