Stopped off near at the little village of West Meon in the (surprisingly named Meon Valley) in deepest Hampshire this afternoon whilst on route to see my parents ahead of Pompey's home game this evening..
It's a tiny little place, less than 700 people live there, has one lovely looking pub and a couple of churches, one over a 1000 years old, the other, relatively newer at 850 years old...
Came across a couple of villagers cleaning up the green by the river, gathering and burning leaves... Got chatting to one guy, a red cheeked typical country gent who mid conversation suddenly shouted "Bloody mink.." raced off and came back with a rescued trout which he prompty returned to the river... Quite surreal..!!
As for footie... Good win and much more positive than in recent games...
@blightygal cool... her dad's joined as well I see...
@karenh really funny you say that as on Sunday I was in the National Gallery and was looking and the Hay Wain and other COnstable paintings and actually thought a similar thing
