The Giant Nail

Little be nippy out today, which, after the warmest November on record (I believe) came as a bit of a shock upon leaving work this evening... Soon will be time to dig out the old gloves and scarf...

Not really happy wiht the few pics I took today... My little P&S doesn't really do night shots so I've tried my best to rescue this shot with a bit of a cinema feel...

Had already cut off the top of the dome so losing a little more doesn't really matter... Although managed to get all the giant nail in..

I like the shot, it has a nice warm feel about it. I can't see the sign stating...Camp Site this way...lol.

@andycoleborn - why is the a big rusty nail there? I assume it's a sculpture but any significance?

@michaelelliott thanks to the wonder of the interweb, I've found it has no reference to the new shopping centre where it sits...seems just a 'random' sculpture for the site then..... the artist who made it, Gavin Turk said "is partly a nostalgic tribute to a "tiny tool" in a development "which probably contains no nails at all" and "I didn't want to stop sightlines through to the cathedral. And it brings to mind Christ on the cross"......!!!!!!!!!
